Pass it On!

At first, I found this virtual choir video by Eric Whitacre very boring. The music was not entertaining, and the title "Sleep", did not help. It caused me to cozy up and have peaceful dreams.






My curiosity was stirred by the large number of viewers, leading me to believe there had to be more to this video. As a music teacher and vocal musician I did appreciate the beauty within the pure quality of each vocal tone.

The amazing technical skills used to bring these voices from countries all across the world, to me, is wonderful.

It was imperative for me to find out where, when, why and how Eric Whitacre began his innovative creative music ideas

With new ideas and varied creativity, Eric Whitacre and many more voices from around the world were able to draw one million hits in one month. The talents ranged from school-aged children to adults.

After viewing Eric's presentation in front of a live audience, I learned to appreciate and enjoy this multimedia presentation. I think it will be ideally used as an example of how amazing technology can be, and how it can be utilized. It would be cool to be able to integrate the multiple facets used to create this video with different genres of song styles. This would help capture the attention of students who enjoy different styles of music.
