I had no idea there was a speech regonition program within google! That is really neat, and could come in handy even for getting a transcript in English for my deaf students!
ReplyDeleteWhat great facts about YouTube. As much as I think I am a fairly global person I was unaware that over 70% of the YouTube traffic is OUTSIDE the U.S. I have watched a few clips on YouTube but is isn't something I do very often. Possibly because I just don't take the time, or have the time, to search out clips that might interest me. However, with that said I can see a lot of advantages to using YouTube in the classroom. I think about how my kids can see other kids from other parts of the US as well as other countries. They can listen to different types of music, hear accents, see traditional costuming, etc.
ReplyDeleteYoutube is so fun and I loved reading your facts about it. I think that sometimes it's hard to wrap my mind around how big and wide spread youtube actually is. And just think...without Youtube we'd be without Justin Bieber. Thank goodness for Youtube! Haha
